With the design of this dresser, I hoped to employ some of the lessons learned from observing and enjoying Japanese nail art. Though the art on the nail is often childish in subject and palette, the shape and length of the nail is so elegant and adult that it creates a fascinating combination of sophistication and whimsy. I thought it'd be interesting if these principles were applied to furniture. So I tried these ideas out on this dresser, though I don't think it lived up to my theory about the nail design. I like how the color combination came out, though.
