The Sea Shore Room

This room is meant to evoke the feelings of being on a sea shore. The smooth, bare walls combined with the detail of the chair reflect the patterns of the actual shore (the smooth sand and the clumps of shells and seaweed.)
I don't really like the shape of the chair's back, and I certainly don't like the colors. I had played with them for a while before finally settling on these. I'm not sure the wall and chair color go together, but I'll keep trying until I can get it right.

Delicious Dresser Rant

With the design of this dresser, I hoped to employ some of the lessons learned from observing and enjoying Japanese nail art. Though the art on the nail is often childish in subject and palette, the shape and length of the nail is so elegant and adult that it creates a fascinating combination of sophistication and whimsy. I thought it'd be interesting if these principles were applied to furniture.
So I tried these ideas out on this dresser, though I don't think it lived up to my theory about the nail design. I like how the color combination came out, though.
